71st issue! If you missed them, you can read the previous issues of my monthly A.I. & Machine Learning newsletter here.

Hey there, Daniel here.

I’m an A.I. & Machine Learning Engineer who also teaches the following beginner-friendly machine learning courses:

I also write regularly about machine learning on my own blog as well as make videos on the topic on YouTube.

Since there's a lot going on, the utmost care has been taken to keep things to the point.

Enough about me! You're here for this month's A.I. & Machine Learning Monthly Newsletter.

Typically a 500ish (+/-1,000ish, usually +) word post detailing some of the most interesting things on machine learning I've found in the last month.

Daniel is Getting Married 💍! Wish him congratulations! In the meantime, for this month only, I'm (Andrei) taking over AI & ML Monthly

Don't worry, Daniel Bourke will be back in December for the final edition of 2025!

From Andrei

The updates below are taken from my Web Dev & Python Industry Newsletters I write every month. I have kept the relevant sections only for this newsletter to only include AI and Machine Learning News:

AI Clocks ⏰

This is pretty genius. Compare the AI models by seeing how they are able to create clocks. Tip: refresh the page to see new clocks generated each time.

Who do you think wins?

AI on Education 🪄

A good reminder of the effects of AI on education.

Be careful, as we've mentioned it many times at ZTM, AI tools can be powerful, but the operator needs to know what they are doing in order to use them properly and not be detrimental to your learning.

How I Use Claude 🔮

A great write-up on how to use every Claude Code feature. It's not as hard or difficult as it sounds, and if you read this post, you're pretty much all caught up on the latest features.

News Around the World 🗺

  • The world’s largest cargo sailboat, Neoliner Origin, completed its first transatlantic voyage on 30 October despite damage to one of its sails during the journey.

  • Cloudflare had a massive outage this month that took down a big portion of the internet. Here is what happened. Blame AI.

  • Voyager 1 Is About to Reach One Light-day from Earth. We have a machine running on 1970s hardware, a light-day away, that arguably maintains a more reliable command-response loop relative to its constraints than many modern microservices sitting in the same availability zone.

Big Tech News aka AI News 🏢

  • Steam is coming out with its own PC gaming machine and everyone is going crazy over it. They also announced their own VR headset.

  • Google has come out with something big: Gemini 3. It's very rare that an announcement like this makes me switch tools but Gemini 3 is so far the most impressive AI I have used and I have now switched to using it as the default. I think it's a step better than the others now. My prediction: Google is going to win this race.

  • Google also released a new IDE this month for you coders: Antigravity.

  • Google is stomping around like Godzilla this month with another announcement. Nano Banana Pro for image generation. Google is taking the lead.

  • Not to be left behind, Anthropic announced Claude Opus 4.5.

  • You thought AGI was coming soon? Nope. Turns out OpenAI is just going to turn into an ad company.

Completely useless to your career but still great 🙃

Best Resource of the Month ✅

I have 2 very different resources for you this month but both of them come from individuals at the very top of their field.

  1. Ilya Sutskever who is probably the top AI researcher (was head of AI at OpenAI and left to build his own "ethical" SSI company), shared his thoughts on the industry. Even though some of the things he discusses might go over your head, I think this should be required listening for everyone. Probably the best discussion I have heard all year around AI.

"These models somehow just generalize dramatically worse than people. It's a very fundamental thing."

  1. Warren Buffett shared his final annual shareholder letter. He is the greatest investor in history. He shares some life lessons that you should all read. My favourite pats:

"One perhaps self-serving observation. I’m happy to say I feel better about the second half of my life than the first. My advice: Don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes – learn at least a little from them and move on. It is never too late to improve. Get the right heroes and copy them."

"Greatness does not come about through accumulating great amounts of money, great amounts of publicity or great power in government. When you help someone in any of thousands of ways, you help the world. Kindness is costless but also priceless. Whether you are religious or not, it’s hard to beat The Golden Rule as a guide to behavior. Keep in mind that the cleaning lady is as much a human being as the Chairman."

Trick of the Month 🌗
