It’s not just beginners who join ZTM.

One of the core aspects of becoming a 10x Developer is that they never stop learning.

That’s why we often see Senior Devs, Engineers, and Team Leaders in the ZTM Discord, helping out, answering questions, and sharing their wins.

One of these stories came up this week that we wanted to share. There aren't many companies with more revenue than the GDP of multiple countries so we thought it was pretty cool and inspirational to see a ZTM student getting hired at NVIDIA.

As you might imagine, he’s fairly busy right now, but I managed to grab him for a few minutes and ask a couple of questions about not just this new role, but his journey to get there.

So let me pass you over to Hiren...

Meet Hiren

Hi, my name is Hiren Namera, and I’m currently serving as the Team Lead of the AI and ML Department at WebOccult Technologies.

In addition to my leadership role, I provide training to new hires on AI, ML, basics of coding, Low-Level Design (LLD), High-Level Design (HLD), and Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).

I also just got offered a Senior Engineer position at Nvidia, as well as an invite to interview for an L5 at Google!

How long have you been in your current role?

I have been working in the AI and ML field for the past five years.

Before my current position, I studied Computer Engineering and subsequently joined Appguruz as a Game Physics Developer.

What steps did you take to get your new job at Nvidia?

A lot of learning and constant improvements!

Since the beginning of my career, it has been my dream to work with industry leaders like NVIDIA, Google, or Meta, simply because I’m deeply inspired by the research work they conduct.

With that in mind, I’ve been committed to continuously updating my skills for new roles, and I regularly read a wide range of AI research papers, and implement new strategies to stay current with market trends. I am also passionate about solving complex problems, which helps.

My objective (with joining Zero To Mastery) was to enhance my ability to teach complex concepts in AI/ML and Data Science more effectively, both in public sessions for students and professionals and in training new joiners at my company.

ZTM has significantly aided me in achieving this goal through its structured approach to teaching, and I’ve been able to take those same principles that helped me learn, and use with others.

This experience, coupled with my adding additional skills like Pytorch helped me secure the role.

Besides ZTM, I also explored courses offered by Geoffrey Hilton and various educational YouTube channels, particularly those covering Computer Science and Mathematics from Stanford.

Is there a big difference in earnings in this new role from what you made before?

I have yet to start, but yes, in my new role, my earnings will increase by 1.5 times compared to my previous job, along with numerous perks, and the opportunity to work with some of the best in the field!

What was your experience like with ZTM?

ZTM stands out due to its engaging community and well-structured courses, which foster a conducive learning environment.

I encountered minimal difficulties after joining. The learning experience at ZTM was smooth and beginner-friendly. The courses I took included practical tasks and quizzes at the end of each milestone, which were highly beneficial.

Like I mentioned before, in an effort to both upskill, and learn how to better mentor others, I have completed the PyTorch with Deep Learning and TensorFlow certification courses.

ZTM has taught me how to simplify complex topics, making them easier to understand and teach, which was incredibly useful during my interview process for my current role.

What advice would you give other students who may have been in your position and are now considering joining the ZTM Academy?

I would advise prospective students (of whatever skill level) to:

  • Clearly define their learning objectives and career goals before enrolling. (This is great advice for any goal or topic you want to learn)
  • Engage actively with the community and apply what you learn in real-world scenarios to maximize the benefits from the courses
  • Remember, the investment in your education is worthwhile if it brings you closer to achieving your professional aspirations. Even if the exchange rates make it more difficult!

So what are you waiting for? Be like Hiren and always be learning!

You only have to look at Hiren's approach to learning to know that he would succeed.

Even once he learned to code and was hired, he then learned new skills, got promoted, became a mentor, learned how to better teach others and kept on skilling up.

Always keep learning. Always be improving. That's how you end up in the best roles and at the most desirable companies.

It might seem a far away dream right now, but it's just one step after the next. So ask yourself, what's your next step?

There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain. You just have to keep learning like Hiren 😉.
